Early Life & Career

Raised in Mejdalaya, Lebanon, George developed an early passion for business and trading. After relocating to Brooklyn in the late 1980s, he gained industry experience before launching GMA Accessories in 1990 alongside his brother.

What began as a small operation grew into a global enterprise, expanding across Europe and Asia, with operations in China, Germany, London, and Italy.

Business & Leadership

Under George’s leadership, Capelli New York became a leading innovator in fashion and a trusted partner for major retailers and licensed brands worldwide.

Today, the organization spans over 3,000 employees, built on a culture of integrity, vision, and long-term relationships.

Sports & Global Investments

A lifelong soccer enthusiast, George has expanded his involvement in the sport through Capelli Sport and investments in professional clubs across Europe, Africa, and beyond.

His portfolio includes clubs in Denmark, Germany, England, Lithuania, and Ghana.

Supporting youth development through Cedar Stars Academy and large-scale training facilities in the United States.

Philanthropy & Impact

George remains deeply committed to giving back through education and youth development initiatives.

He founded the Altirs Foundation, supporting students in the United States and Lebanon, and contributes to organizations including K.I.D.S/Fashion Delivers, the Police Athletic League, and various international charitable programs.

He also serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, where he was awarded an honorary doctorate.

Personal Life

George Altirs lives in New Jersey with his wife, Elisabeth, and their seven children.
